Speaker: Dr. Celene Ibrahim
Special Topic: “The Sunna of Ecological Deference.”
About the Speaker: Dr. Celene Ibrahim is the author of Women and Gender in the Qur’an (Oxford University Press, 2020) and the editor of One Nation, Indivisible: Seeking Liberty and Justice from the Pulpit to the Streets (Wipf & Stock, 2019). Her current book project, forthcoming from Cambridge University Press (in 2022), examines how the concept of tawhīd informs Muslim spiritual practices. Dr. Ibrahim received a doctorate from Brandeis University, a Masters of Divinity from Harvard University, and a Bachelor of Arts with highest honors from Princeton University.
