Special Topic: “Quran as the foundation of a new original system of thought”
Abstract:
This presentation is based on Toshihiko Izutsu’s “Ethico-religious concepts in Quran”. As an accomplished linguist, Izutsu tries to study the structural elements of key ethical terms in Quran using a semantic approach. He explains how Islam has redefined the meaning of words and elucidates the ethical universe of the Quran.
About the Speaker:
Dr. Radawi is a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at MIT.
