Title:“Imam Husayn (AS) as a Quranic archetype.”
Abstract: Ashoura occurred 50 years after the revelation of the last verse of Quran. Nevertheless, Imam Husayn’s life and martyrdom are intimately intertwined with Quran. Personally, he is addressed with praise in many verses of Quran as a member of the esteemed Ahlul-bayt. In addition, his martyrdom has parallels in the life of Quranic prophets such as Ishmael (Ismail) and John (Yahya). Finally, his movement and mission was in the pursuit of establishing the Quranic ideals. Therefore, we will talk about Imam Husayn as an embodiment of Quran in all of the aforementioned levels.
