NOTE: As usual, we will donate any excess funds generated to an orphan-supporting organization.

PROGRAM: Quran Recitation, Presentations by the Students of Omid School, Haft Seen Presentation, Lecture, Soroud, Competitions, and Dua followed by Prayer and Dinner.

We will have a “SABZE” and “PASTRY” competition. We will send the rules of the competitions to all the participants who intend to compete. Please send an email to omid.center@yahoo.com if you would like to compete in these competitions by March 16, 2020.

DRESS CODE: As usual, observation of Islamic attire is appreciated.
PARKING: On Site
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: Take Green Line D to Riverside T Station and Uber, lift, or Taxi to the Center.

About the Speaker:

      Sayyid Abbas Razavian grew up in the greater Los Angeles area.  He received his bachelors degree in business administration from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California in 2001. At the age of 21 he moved to Tehran, Iran to study in the Islamic Seminary of Tehran with the late honorable akhlaq(ethics) teacher Ayatullah Mujtahidi. After the passing of his akhlaq teacher, he moved to Qum to continue his studies in Islamic legal theory and law. After finishing the sutuh of the hawza(Islamic seminary), he began bahth al-kharij. He is currently in his sixth year of bahth kharij. Altogether he has studied for over 16 years in the Islamic seminary.  He has had English speaking engagements through out the US.

About the Invited Speaker:
Sayyid Mohammad Baqir Kashmiri is a religious scholar, author and public speaker who completed his religious studies in Qum Seminary. He represents several late and living jurists in Qum and Najaf seminaries including Ayatullah Sayyid Ali Sistani to deal with all matters pertaining to the jurist in North America. Sayyid Kashmiri has given numerous speeches and written research papers and articles on various subjects including history, Quran interpretation, Islamic principles, religion, and secularism, which have resulted in “The Washington Declaration: A Code of Honor for Sunni and Shia in North America against Violence and Extremism”. He is also the founder of Imam Mahdi Association of Marjaeeya (I.M.A.M), an organization aimed to support the Shia community in North America.

Living in the era of neglect.
Exegesis “Tafsir” of the Verse 172 of Surah Al-A’raaf”
About the Speaker: Mr. Mostafa Daneshgar was born in Qum. He started his studies on Shiite theology and Shiite Jurisprudence in the Qum Seminary and continued these studied when he immigrated to Syria where he attended the Seminary of Zenobia at Damascus. Apart from his religious studies he earned a BS degree in Industrial Engineering and a BS degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He is currently a PhD candidate in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Mr. Daneshgar has written more than 200 articles and speeches about Islam, Shiite, and relations between religions, specifically Shiite, as well as cultural and social challenges in Persian, Arabic, and English.
